6 Ways to Give Back this Holiday Season

If you are looking for ways to get into the giving spirit this holiday season, here are several great opportunities from your fellow HLN members. Check out all these requests for volunteers!
1. West Mont Tree Lot
West Mont Flower & Trading Company has their tree lot open and ready for business. Volunteers are needed to support Westmont and adults with disabilities. All the proceeds from the tree sales go back to the organization.
When: Nov. 26-Dec.13
Where: In the Town Pump lot across from Dollar Tree
Need: Volunteers can work from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday, any time between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM on Saturday or any time between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Sunday.

2. Festival of Trees
This year’s FOT features a silent auction, Tea in the Trees, Jingle Bell Jam and more!
When: Dec. 1-5
Where: Helena Civic Center
Need: Volunteers are needed to help anyway they can, but especially as servers for the gala dinner this Friday, Dec. 3. Volunteers who work the dinner will get a free ticket to Jingle Bell Jam for Saturday night, a dance featuring 10 Years Gone!
3. Helena Holiday Cruise
The Helena Holiday Cruise is Helena’s newest holiday tradition, where families and friends travel around the community enjoying holiday lights with snacks, cocoa or hot apple cider in a commemorative thermos and a map of the best holiday lights.
When: Dec. 17-19 | 4:45 – 8:45 PM
Where: Parking lot near Planet Fitness at 3091 N. Sanders St.
Need: Volunteers are needed in advance to prepare thermoses and ornaments and during the event to help with passing out items and directing traffic (dress warm!).

4. Montana Joining Community Forces – Adopt a Vet
Adopt a veteran and his or her family for Christmas by providing unwrapped gifts.
5. Montana Joining Community Forces – Adopt a Vet Gift Wrapping
Sign up for a two-hour shift to help wrap presents for veterans and their families. You can also sign up to help transport gifts.
When: Gift wrapping opportunities are Dec. 1, 3, 4, 8, 10, 11 or 15
